COVID has upturned most people's and pets' lives in one way or another over the last 18 months, so we understand how frustrating it is to have bookings canceled and losing your income.
You may be able to keep doing many of your bookings as Pet Care may be considered as essential work as you are fulfilling caring responsibilities, however, we always recommend you review your State government guidelines for more detailed guidance.
If an Owner needs to cancel their booking you or the owner can submit a ticket to have us action and refund as necessary. Our Customer Service team will contact you to confirm if you want to apply your cancellation policy. Now is a good time to ensure that your cancellation policy is appropriate.
As each State bounces in and out of Lockdowns and Stay at Home orders, it's important that you understand what financial support you are eligible for. As Mad Paws is a shared economy platform, we are not classified as an employer for Pet Sitters. We are not in a position to facilitate government COVID support payments for you.
We recommend that you refer to Services Australia and your State government websites to find answers suitable to your situation. You may be eligible for a COVID disaster payment but it is your responsibility to ensure you are eligible and apply.
